Why Choose Our Kelly Bar
Durable Drive Stub
Special Design of the Connection of Drive Stub
1.Weld the core shaft and drive stub together.
2.Insert the core shaft already welded to the drive stub into the hole of the kelly bar' inner section.
3.Make six rivet hole at the overlaps of inner kelly and core shaft, then welded completely, to make the inner kelly and the core shaft into one.
4.Make the bottom of the inner kelly welded to the drive stub.
Special Treatment Material Of Terminal Joint
As adopt super wear resistant material ,we need to anneal before compressing into arc, then quench ,which will make it much more wearable and durable.
Double Rivet Welded For Lock Key
We adopt double riveting welding structure for the outer section first row drive key as this position is used most frequently. With this structure the drive key will be more firm and when the lock key is pressed by rig, plastic deformation will be reduced as well the probability of cracking. In this way, the lifetime of kelly bar will be increased.

Kelly Bar Classification and Structure
Interlocking kelly bar
Interlocking kelly bar systems are designed for drilling hard materials, as well as when a crowd force application is needed. Each section of kelly bars is made of seamless steel tube and the inner and outer key strips welded on it. The distribution of outer key strips are divided into two types- one type with 3 key strips on kelly bar surface, the other type with 6 key strips, in the middle of outer key strips there are two or three pressuring
plates. When the inner drive shell are rotated to the pressuring plates of outer driver keys, the pressure produced by the cylinders is directly transferred to the drilling tool.
The purpose is to interlock each telescopic element to an inner following element in order to apply maximum torque and crowd force developed by the base rig. Due to this, the rotary table’s inner drive is equipped with locking pockets.
When extracting the locking bar from the hole, a combination of lifting and rotating counterclockwise allows the telescopic element to unlock.
Locking bars typically come with 3, 4 and telescopic element to unlock.
Drive shell steel quality: German imported steel palate
Drive stub steel quality: Special forged steel
Drive stub dimensions: 200*200, 150*150 or customized.
Outer pipe available diameter: 305, 343, 368, 419, 470,559
Upper shock absorbed system:Damping rubber ring
Lower shock absorbed system: Damping rubber ring and damping spring.
Number of telescopic elements: 3, 4, 5 and other on request.
Friction Kelly bar
The telescopic elements are advanced using a ‘friction contact ’ from each of the friction drive shell that run down the outside of each kelly bar. These drive shell are driven by rotary table and terminal joints of each successively larger diameter kelly bar. The terminal joint is a long piece on the inside and bottom of each kelly bars.
Frictional kelly bars typically are available with 4, 5 or 6 telescopic elements. They are primarily used for deep piles in the medium hard soil conditions.

Disassembly and installation of kelly bar
Kelly Bar Disassembly (take 4 sections Kelly bar as an example)
1) Remove the bolt NO. 1 shows on the picture, and take apart the drill pipe casing and a guide frame.
2) Remove the pin shaft No.2 shows on picture and the rotary joint.
3) Remove the bolt No.3 shows on picture, and take apart the two baffles and notched ring. Along the kelly bar downward, pull out of the innermost section (the fourth section).
4) Along the Kelly bar upward, and pull out of the third section. 5) Along the upward side of Kelly bar, pull out of the second section.
6) Finishing.
Kelly Bar Installation
1) Insert the second section from the top of the first section. (The outer key of second section must match the inner alveolar of the first section). Fully loaded, with a pin lock the first and second section in the drain pallet hole, in order to prevent pulling out of the second section when install the third section.
2) Third drill pipe into the drill pipe from the top of second section. Fully loaded, pin the first, second and third section at the pallet hole, so that to prevent drilling out the second and third section when install the fourth section.
3) Install the fourth section from the bottom of third section, don't forget the spring and drain pallet, and the pallet gap side must be turned up.
4) Mount above No.3 shows on the picture. They are the baffle plate and bolt. Pay attention to the direction and the front baffle (with mark).
5) Mount above No. 2 shows the pin and the rope connector
6) Mount the bolt No.1 shows on picture above, and connect the casing and guide frame.
Finished the installation.
